The Board of Directors of the European Network of Places of Peace/ENPP received the sad news today of the passing of Wolfgang Heinichen in Altranstädt, Germany.
Wolfgang Heinichen, as a member of the Board of Directors of the Association for the Promotion of Altranstädt Castle (Förderverein Schloss Altranstädt e.V.), was one of the most enthusiastic supporters of the ENPP project and one of those responsible for the membership of this German Association at the time of its founding in 2010, having served as Chairman of the Statutory Audit Committe of the ENPP, representing his Association.
Wolfgang Heinichen participated in several ENPP activities, namely, in various European Meetings and in the official launch of the Places of Peace Route, in the city of Leipzig (Germany), in December 2012.
Wolfgang Heinichen stood out for his enormous kindness and commitment to all the activities in which he participated.
Therefore, the Board of Directors of the European Network of Places of Peace has already extended its deepest condolences to the Board of Directors of the Association Förderverein Schloss Altranstädt e.V., to all members of this Association and to the family of Wolfgang Heinichen, especially his wife, Mrs. Almuth Heinichen.
