Following the formal expression of intent to submit its application for Cultural Route of the Council of Europe, “Places of Peace Route” was invited to participate in the “TRAINING SEMINAR” promoted by the European Institute of Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe (EICR), which took place in the City of Luxembourg on April 28 and 29.

This “TRAINING SEMINAR” was dedicated to Cultural Routes that intend to obtain certification as Cultural Route of the Council of Europe in the 2026/2027 evaluation period and its main objective is to equip the applicant Routes with the essential tools for preparing the application form and its contents.
The “TRAINING SEMINAR” was led by the Executive Secretary of the  Enlarged Partial Agreement on Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe (EPA) and Director of the European Institute of Cultural Routes (EICR), Mr. Rui Gomes, and by the Institute’s staff, and discussed topics such as the key steps for structuring a Cultural Route, the five fields of action of a Cultural Route, and the guidelines for the management, sustainability, and development of a cultural route.

This seminar also allowed for the exchange of experiences and information between the invited candidate routes, some certified cultural routes, and the EICR team.

The “Places of Peace Route” was represented at this Seminar by Dr. Apolónia Rodrigues, project director and coordinator of the development of the application form.
