The Scientific Council of the Places of Peace Route met on 15 September at the Altranstädt Castle in Leipzig, Germany, at the invitation of the Association for the Promotion of this  Saxony Castle, a founding member of ENPP.

The members of the Scientific Council discussed the ways to increase the visibility of Places of Peace Route to the European academic community, including by involving teachers and students in the research and development of its basic theme – the European Peace Treaties – as well as the current process of Certification of Places of Peace Route as Cultural Route of the Council of Europe.

The Scientific Council approved a Final Declaration highlighting the reasons that, in its opinion, justify this certification. The Places of Peace Route Scientific Council includes academics from Portugal, Germany, Slovakia, Hungary, Croatia, Bulgaria and Romania.
