The manager of the Places of Peace Route, Dr. Apolónia Rodrigues, today officially presented the Route’s application for certification by the Council of Europe during the 15th Council of Europe Cultural Routes Advisory Forum, which is being held in Yerevan, the capital of Armenia.
This presentation took place during the session dedicated to the Routes applying for this certification for the period 2026/2027, with the decision expected to be made during the meeting of the Government of the Enlarged Partial Agreement on Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe (EPA), which will take place in May 2027 and in which representatives of the Governments of the 43 signatory countries of this Agreement will participate.
During her presentation, Dr. Apolónia Rodrigues had the opportunity to refer to the main contents and objectives of the Route, and the activities carried out along the Route, with particular emphasis on activities with young Europeans within the ERASMUS+ Program.
The Places of Peace Route currently includes 13 sites associated with the signing of Peace Treaties located in 9 European countries: Portugal, Spain, Germany, Slovakia, Hungary, Croatia, Türkiye, Bulgaria and Ukraine.
