In a joint organization of the European Network of Places of Peace, the Center for Advanced Studies in Tourism of the University of Bologna and the CIDEHUS of the University of Évora, the 1st Annual International Interdisciplinary Conference on the theme „Places of Peace: Making Europe throughout Peace Treaties” already has a date set for June 30, 2021 and will be held online.

For the dissemination of this Conference and for the reception of all collaborations for the topics to be discussed, a dedicated website is now available online at http://conference.placesofpeace.eu  where interested parties can find all details and information on the procedures to be followed.

The Conference Chair will consist of 3 elements representing the organizing entities: Patrizia Battilani, Director of the Center for Advanced Studies in Tourism at the University of Bologna (Italy), Eduardo Basso, President of the European Network of Sites of Peace and Áurea Rodrigues, researcher at CIDEHUS of the University of Évora.

This 1st Annual Conference has already confirmed 3 keynote speakers: Patrizia Battilani from University of Bologna (Italy), Fábio Carbone, from University of Coventry (United Kingdom) and Tóth Ferenc, researcher at the History Institute of the Humanities Research Center in Budapest (Hungary) .

The “CALL FOR PAPERS” is already open and the deadline for sending “abstracts” will be the 15th of January 2021. After receiving the “abstracts”, a selection will be made by the members of the Scientific Council of the Conference constituted by 27 elements from 13 countries (Bulgaria,  Brazil, Croatia, Cyprus, France, Germany, Hungary, Israel, Italy, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia and United Kingdom) based on their relevance to the topics of the Conference. The acceptance notification will be made until January 31, 2021.
